Sheila Le
Assistant Coach
Email
Sheila is in her debut year of coaching, starting at the Delmar
Dolfins in the Spring of 2009. Her love of competitive
swinning started when she was in middle school watching her older
sister swim at the varsity level. She made a big splash
herself in her first year of swimming for the Glens Falls High
School swim team, earning the top spot on the medley team and
specializing in the backstroke. Sheila continued her
successful high school swimming career by taking additional command
of other strokes like the butterfly and contributed to breaking a
15-year old high school record in the 200 Free Relay. Upon
graduating high school, Sheila set aside the more competive aspects
of swimming to focus on completing her degree in Biology at the
University of Massachusetts - Amherst. After completing her
degree at UMASS, Sheila turned to swimming as a form of
recreational exercise and a de-stresser as she worked full time as
a research technician for Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston
and the David Axelrod Institute in Albany. Currently, Sheila
dedicates her time working at the New York Neural Stem
Cell Institute. She never let go of her love of swimming and
is happy to be with others, peers and up-and-coming swimmers alike,
who share the same competitive spirit and drive for the sport.
